I had the chance to grab the bar for tonight's main act at Day one of Mopop Music Festival in Detroit, Michigan. Gerald was one show-stopper that I could not miss. His movement on stage was of a great Dane excited to see his family again (haha, I know it sounds like a height joke but if you ever saw a dog get excite you know the feeling). He didn't hesitate either connecting with the fans, even grabbing a phone for a quick video clip. For someone who normally photographs rock groups seeing that connection on a daily basis, it was great to see that spread into other genres. I would come back to one of his shows anytime, preferably with a photo pass because his fans are intense.
